SUPERIOR CABLE BUS BENEFITS

Since Superior Cable Bus system is continuous, there are no power losses from intermediate splices or connections. Our Cable Bus System has a lower impedance and lower voltage drop because its power cables are properly phased, spaced and secured in a pre-engineered system. This reduces operating costs by providing long term energy savings. The use of parallel power cables, combined with our free air rating, allows you to operate fully and efficiently with smaller cable than that called for with other types of power feeder systems. Additionally, the Superior Cable Bus System does not have to be precisely aligned with the bus bars in the switchgears or transformers which are essential in the bus bar systems. Superior Cable Bus systems also do not require heater strips to keep moisture out of the system because it is designed to be ventilated for both outdoor and indoor conditions. The key five benefits of Superior Cable Bus Systems are:

Lower Installation and Operating Cost

- Superior Cable Bus is the most cost effective power feeder. In electrical applications over 1,000 amperes, Superior Cable Bus costs less than any other power feeder systems.

- Superior Cable Bus Sections are light and its bottom cable support blocks are factory pre-installed making its installation easily handled by two men.

- Cable Bus Systems are pre-cut to fit specific location, requiring no special heavy erection equipment.

- Superior Cable Bus uses free air rated power cables that are installed in a ventilated enclosure and cable spacing is maintained by support blocks. Because less conductor carries the full rated current (maximum ampacity in accordance with ICEA (Insulated Cable Engineers Association) listings for 90°C rated conductors, wasted power is eliminated resulting in a lower operating cost of our Superior Cable Bus System.

Flexibility

- Flexible and adaptable: Superior cable Bus System can be easily adjusted according to the unforeseen dimensional changes during installation as cable bus sections can be routed around any field obstruction or misplacement of equipment and can be cut-to-fit onsite as required.

- Removable top covers for ease of power cable installation and addition of other circuits or power cables.

- The cable bus systems do not have to be precisely aligned with the bus bars in the switchgears or transformers which are essential in the bus bar systems.

- The layout comes complete with match marked drawings to sections. Thus it facilitates easy field erection.

Safety

- All welded rigid construction.

- Due to the robust structure and unique design of Superior Cable Bus, power cables are protected from damage caused by falling ice and other foreign objects. Moreover, the structure is so strong that in an emergency situation, workman can walk across the superior bus system without causing any structural damage.

- High pressure splice joints provide an excellent path to ground.

- Workmen are free of shock hazards, no exposed bus elements only insulated power cables are used.

- The Superior Cable Bus system has excellent protection against adverse atmospheres and is used in both indoor and outdoor applications.

Reliability

Four key features contributing to the reliability are:

- Top and bottom covers of Superior Cable Bus are ventilated for optimum free air rating so de-rating is not normally required and power cables run cooler.

- Each system's phase arrangement of Superior Cable Bus is verified by inductive reactance calculations to ensure a more balance load.

- The system's short circuit capacity has been designed to over 100,000 RMS symmetrical amperes. Support Blocks restrain the power cable through the entire system.

- Fully insulated power cables are used and the only conductor connections are at the equipment terminations. Since terminations are the cause of most electrical failures, the minimal conductor connections increases the Superior Cable Bus System reliability.

Custom Fabrication

- We have an excellent and versatile manufacturing facility with an expert engineering and design team. We have the capability to customize a design to suit the specific requirements of any electrical installation.

- We have knowledgeable and experienced technical staff to design a cable bus system from scratch or work with existing prints for industries like medical, marine, electronics, construction, petrochemical, power plants, etc.

- In some instances, clients only provide the details of the equipment termination and power route and we will do the detailed engineering design of the most economical and suitable cable bus electrical system for the installation.

- Our main goal is to achieve 100% client satisfaction by providing our clients with field engineering services in addition to our design expertise.
